MARTINEZ, California — May 24, 2026 — The Martinez Sturgeon used a big offensive night to defeat the Bakersfield Train Robbers 18-10.

Martinez took control early, scoring three runs in the first inning, one in the second, three in the third, and three more in the fourth to build a 10-0 lead.

Bakersfield battled back with six runs in the sixth inning, added another run in the seventh, and scored three more in the ninth, but Martinez answered with three runs in the seventh and five in the eighth to put the game away.

Michael Pavelchak led Martinez by going 3-for-3 with three runs, an RBI, three walks, a triple, and two stolen bases. Jason Leon went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three stolen bases, while Jacob Klinovsky drove in three runs. Logan Reese scored four runs and drove in two, and Josiah Collado added three hits and two RBIs.

For Bakersfield, Jed Downham hit a home run and drove in four runs. Christian Alamirano added two RBIs, while Dylan Heil scored three runs and collected two hits.

Martinez finished with 18 runs on 15 hits and one error. Bakersfield scored 10 runs on 10 hits and committed three errors.
