Martinez Sturgeon Defeat Dublin Leprechauns 11-5

June 11 2023 The Martinez Sturgeon defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 11-5 at Waterfront Park, combining 16 hits with a strong early offensive push. Martinez scored once in the first inning, four times in the second and once in the third to take a 6-1 lead. The Sturgeon added three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to maintain control.

Cain Agis went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Martinez, while Luke Johnson drove in three runs and scored once. Eric Whitfield added two hits and two RBIs, and Tony Riley collected two hits, including two doubles, and scored once. Dave Kyriacou hit Martinez’s other home run and finished with an RBI. The Sturgeon finished with 16 hits and no errors.

Isaiah Lewis powered Dublin’s offense by going 4-for-4 with two home runs, two runs and four RBIs. Mark Jacob added an RBI, and the Leprechauns scored twice in the seventh and twice in the ninth, but could not overcome Martinez’s lead. Dublin totaled 11 hits and committed two errors.

Erik Estrada earned the win for Martinez after allowing eight hits and three earned runs over seven innings while striking out eight and walking two. Craig Broadman worked a scoreless eighth with one strikeout. Albert Dominguez took the loss for Dublin after allowing 16 hits and 11 runs, 10 earned, in eight innings; he struck out five and walked three.
