Martinez Uses Ten Run Third to Defeat Dublin

June 25 2023 The Martinez Sturgeon defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 16-9 after scoring 10 runs in the third inning at Waterfront Park. Martinez collected 13 hits and overcame three Dublin errors while Dublin finished with 12 hits and one error.

Martinez took an early 2-1 lead after two innings and added single runs in the fourth through sixth innings before scoring once in the eighth. Sam Freedman went 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBI including a home run. Erik Estrada added three hits and two RBI while also scoring twice. Nick Adgar hit a home run and drove in two runs and Cain Agis and Daniel Ramos each contributed two RBI.

Dublin scored five runs in the ninth inning but could not complete the comeback. Mark Jacob hit a home run and led the Leprechauns with four RBI while Saul Razo had three hits and two RBI. Josue Rivera had two hits and one RBI and Kyler LeRoux added two hits and one RBI.

Erik Estrada earned the win for Martinez after allowing seven hits and three earned runs in six innings with nine strikeouts and two walks. Dublin starter Wyatt Rowland was charged with the loss after surrendering 10 runs on six hits in 2 1/3 innings. Chase Mcguiggan held Martinez to one run over three innings in relief.
