Dublin Leprechauns Pull Away Late for 21-10 Win

June 23 2024 The Dublin Leprechauns defeated the Martinez Sturgeon 21-10 at Waterfront Park, using a 17-hit attack and a pair of big late-inning rallies. Dublin scored twice in the fifth, then broke open the game with eight runs in the eighth and 11 in the ninth. Martinez finished with 11 hits and scored in the second sixth seventh eighth and ninth innings. Dublin first baseman D. Gardiner went 4-for-6 with five RBI and a run, while J. Ford added four hits in five at-bats with three runs and one RBI. J. Nunn hit two home runs and drove in three runs, and T. Bridges and Stone Miyao each contributed three RBI. Dublin also received two hits and three RBI from Miyao. Martinez was led by J. Fargnoli, who homered and drove in four runs, and C. Natov, who also hit a home run and finished with two RBI. E. Whitfield had a double and two RBI, while T. Riley and I. Clark each collected two hits. Cade Bochtler earned the win for Dublin after allowing one hit and one run in two-thirds of an inning. Dante Hatchett started and worked 6.1 innings, allowing eight hits and five runs, four earned, with three strikeouts. Martinez starter E. Estrada held Dublin to two runs over five innings, but the Sturgeon bullpen was charged with 19 runs. Dustin Hernandez took the loss after allowing three hits and three runs in one inning.
