San Rafael Pacifics Defeat Martinez Sturgeon 8-3

July 4 2024 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Martinez Sturgeon 8-3, collecting 10 hits while holding Martinez to six. San Rafael scored in four different innings, breaking a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fourth before adding two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings.

Chris Blyskal led the Pacifics’ offense by going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI. Beau Dorman added two hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs. Aki Buckson also contributed two RBI, while John Bicos scored twice and finished 2-for-4.

Alex Valasek earned the win after allowing six hits and two earned runs over seven innings. He walked one and struck out 10. Xavier Stewart worked two innings and allowed one unearned run while striking out two.

Martinez scored once in the second inning and added single runs in the seventh and eighth. Jon Fargnoli and Caleb Natov each had two hits for the Sturgeon. Chris Kenney took the loss after surrendering seven hits and six earned runs in five innings, with four strikeouts.
