Vallejo Seaweed Cruise Past Martinez Sturgeon 17-4

June 13 2025 The Vallejo Seaweed scored in six of the first eight innings and defeated the Martinez Sturgeon 17-4 at Doyle Park. Vallejo finished with 17 hits, while Martinez collected nine. The Seaweed took control with five runs in the first inning and four more in the second before adding a run in the fifth, another in the sixth and six in the eighth.

Thomas Fitzpatrick went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs for Vallejo. Mickey Nunes drove in three runs, Bryce Hayman went 2-for-6 with two RBI and three runs, and Layne Wilkerson went 3-for-6 with a triple, one RBI and three runs. Aaron Harper added three hits, while Trey Fletcher had two hits and an RBI.

Francisco Leon earned the win after allowing nine hits and three runs, none earned, in eight innings. He walked two and struck out two. Anthony Jones worked a scoreless ninth inning aside from one unearned run. Martinez received RBI contributions from Sam Freedman, who drove in three runs, and Andrew Curran, who had two hits and one RBI. Ryan Harvel took the loss for Martinez after allowing five hits and five runs in one inning.
